British airways now have a regular scheduled flight from Gatwick to Tenerife. Prices can be very reasonable.

• September 2006 - More flights to Tenerife!!!!! - A total of 29 airline companies have requested winter slots for the Canary Islands for the coming season, among them are four for Tenerife Sur and four for Los Rodeos. Among the four jockeying for position in Tenerife Sur are low cost Asturias Airlines, a new company operating out of northern Spain which wants to establish two flights a week from Oviedo to tenerife, and British company Fly Be which is interested in setting up three flights a week from Exeter.
  
  
• In addition, Jet2, Globespan and GB Airways are seeking to expand their winter options with Tenerife. Jet2's routes up to now have been operating out of Leeds, but this winter it is hoping to extend its offers with Belfast, Blackpool, Manchester and Newcastle connections. Globespan, meanwhile is adding two new tenerife routes from Liverpool and Doncaster/Sheffiled, while GB Airways has announced two new points of departure: Bristol & Nottingham.
